Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Jefferson, Louisiana to perform maintenance and repairs on heavy‑duty diesel engines. You will conduct routine preventive maintenance, diagnose issues with diagnostic tools, and communicate with drivers to determine repairs.

A CDL is preferred and required to obtain within 6 months; training and safety checks are part of the pathway. Ryder offers weekly pay, PTO from day one, merit pay increases, 401(k) matching, boot and PPE allowances, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Valid CDL CLASS A preferred (must obtain CDL within 6 months)
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two years of training or work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems with diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue.
