Job summary

Clarke Power Services, Inc is seeking a Mid Level Diesel Technician in Knoxville, TN. The role focuses on diagnosing electrical, engine, and transmission issues, with duties including repair, modification, and repair of older equipment.

Experience with Cummins engines and Allison transmissions is a plus. A strong team mentality and commitment to safety are required; DOT card eligibility is needed.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years equipment repair experience required.
• Diesel program certificate or degree preferred.
• DOT medical card must be obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical, engine, and transmission systems.
• Repair and modify older equipment; service cooling and chassis components.
• Communicate status and timeframes to Lead Tech and management.
• Welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
• MUST have a team mentality and work cohesively.

Mid Level Diesel Technician

Mon-Fri Shift: 7am-3:30pm or 9am-5:30pm

What are the Duties?

Essential Duties:

• Electrical, Engine, and Transmission Diagnostic Ability is preferred
• Cummins engine and Allison Transmission experience a Plus
• Work could include but not limited to: cooling systems, heavy duty chassis, suspension, and brakes, etc
• Modify, and repair of older equipment
• Communicate directly with Lead Tech, Customer Support Manager, and Customer Support Rep
• Provide accurate updates and time frames on all unit status'
• Welding and Fabrication Skills are a Plus
• MUST HAVE A TEAM MENTALITY

PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to read and write reports.Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• 3-6+ years Equipment Repair experience required
• Diesel Program Certificate or Degree from college or technical school Preferred
• Must be able to obtain DOT Med Card

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Valid Driver's License required
• Valid CDL is a PLUS, not required
• ASE Certifications are a PLUS, not required
