ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Mid Database Administrator to maintain stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases supporting mission‑critical systems in a regulated federal setting.

You design structures, optimize performance, and coordinate with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams while leading backup, disaster recovery, and upgrade activities with minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 4–7 years of progressive database administration experience.
• Proficiency with relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated experience with database security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills supporting cross‑functional collaboration in enterprise environments.
• Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance as required by the client.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel less than 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize production and non‑production instances of platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including advanced schema design and environment‑specific configuration.
• Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query execution plans to resolve performance bottlenecks and ensure predictable response times for high‑volume workloads.
• Develop and execute robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies and lead periodic recovery tests for mission‑critical systems.
• Implement and review advanced security controls such as encryption at rest and in transit, RBAC, privileged account management, and auditing.
• Lead planning and execution of database software upgrades, patching cycles, and cross‑environment migrations to manage risk and downtime.
