Nyla Technology Solutions is seeking a Cyber Analytic Computer Scientist Level 2 (CaCS2) in Maryland to support cyber data analysis, pipeline development, and workflow processing. An active TS/SCI polygraph clearance is required.

The role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing analytics and data manipulation scripts using Python and Apache Pig, with collaboration across mission analysts, software engineers, and system architects.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 5+ years of professional software engineering experience OR Associate's Degree in a related technical field PLUS 7+ years of hands-on technical software development experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience or 7+ years with an Associate's Degree in a related field.

Job Description

ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED

The Cyber Analytic Computer Scientist Level 2 (CaCS2) serves as a key technical contributor supporting complex cyber data analysis, pipeline development, and workflow processing. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize specialized analytics and data manipulation scripts to extract actionable insights from large-scale data streams. Working closely with mission analysts, software developers, and system architects, the CaCS2 translates operational requirements into technical capabilities by leveraging distributed data processing languages (Pig) and scripting frameworks (Python) alongside specialized customer data architectures.

The annual base salary range for this role is $125,000-$158,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.

Required Skills

• Analytic & Pipeline Development: Construct, refine, and deploy custom cyber analytics and data processing scripts using Python and Apache Pig to query and evaluate large, multi-source datasets.
• Domain Integration: Leverage deep operational understanding of STARPROC, ASDF, and XKS frameworks to optimize data enrichment, ingest pathways, and automated targeting/triage workflows.
• Data Transformation & Extraction: Design efficient data transformation logic to extract key telemetry, metadata, and intelligence indicators from complex, unstructured, or semi-structured data formats.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with mission partners, capability leads, and engineering teams to refine analytic requirements, troubleshoot processing bottlenecks, and streamline intelligence output.
• Documentation & Technical Sharing: Maintain thorough documentation of analytic logic, processing pipelines, standard operating procedures, and repository code bases to support cross-team integration and auditing.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 5+ years of professional software engineering experience OR Associate's Degree in a related technical field PLUS 7+ years of hands-on technical software development experience in lieu of a degree.

Desired Skills

Experience with distributed computing frameworks and big data architectures (e.g., Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark).

Familiarity with additional scripting or query languages used in cyber processing pipelines.

Understanding of modern software development life cycle practices, version control (Git), and agile team workflows.
