Orion Placement is seeking a mid‑level attorney to join our esteemed litigation team in Houston for in‑person work handling sophisticated commercial disputes. You will engage in substantive research, case strategy, and hands‑on casework, collaborating with experienced trial lawyers to drive meaningful client outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and a solid law school background.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active Texas Bar admission.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, factual analysis, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Meaningful tenure and demonstrated stability at prior law firms.
• Strong law school credentials.
• Mock trial or moot court experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle substantive legal research and analysis in support of complex commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Analyze facts, legal issues, and case strategy with a high level of attention to detail.
• Support attorneys through all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Coordinate research and document review projects with team leads and colleagues.
• Manage assignments independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support teams.
• Communicate clearly, respond promptly, and maintain strong organization in a fast‑paced practice.
• Contribute thoughtful analysis and practical solutions to challenging legal issues.
