Overview

Mid-Level Automotive Technician – Colonial Heights, VA at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Goodyear is hiring for this role, with a focus on hands-on diagnostic and repair work in Auto Service centers.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in a Goodyear Auto Service center by diagnosing technical issues using mechanical aptitude while delivering excellent guest service.
• Perform line technician services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, and problem-solving (brakes, alignments, fluid changes, preventative maintenance, tire installation).
• Document all work performed on the repair order; report safety issues to management; promote teamwork to deliver timely customer care during operating hours.
• Maintain adherence to company policy on vehicle care and operation; perform manual tasks for extended periods including lifting and handling tires and wheels; stand, bend and squat as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, fluid flushes, and preventative maintenance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• ASE Certification.
• Experience diagnosing vehicles and performing road tests.
• Experience with electrical, air conditioning, and primary/advanced fuel ignition systems.
