Associate Attorney – Music/Entertainment & IP Transactions (LA Hybrid)

A top-tier law firm with a nationally recognized Entertainment & Media practice is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its music-focused team in Los Angeles. This role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact transactions across the music industry, representing emerging artists, superstar talent, music companies, investors, digital platforms, and creative entrepreneurs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support music-related transactions such as:
• Recording and publishing agreements
• Album clearance and licensing
• Music catalog acquisitions and sales
• Management and joint venture agreements
• Sponsorships, endorsements, and digital licensing deals
• Address legal issues involving copyright, trademarks, and AI
• Provide legal counsel on music-related M&A transactions, including due diligence and negotiations

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active California Bar membership
• 3–6 years of experience in the music industry, in-house or at a law firm
• Experience with key music industry agreements
• Knowledge of copyright law, rights of publicity, and music trademarks
• Catalog sales and acquisitions experience is preferred but not mandatory
