Tuthill & Hughes LLP seeks an experienced mid-level associate attorney to join our private wealth practice in Denver.
We are unique. We are a boutique law firm founded twenty years ago by former partners of a large, historic Denver firm. Our firm is one among four Colorado law firms consistently ranked Band 1 in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide (“Chambers”) for Private Wealth Law, and each of our partners is individually ranked by Chambers well. In addition, our partners are proud to be Fellows of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), an organization recognizing and fostering excellence in the practice.
For our associates, Tuthill & Hughes combines the technical expertise and complexity of a leading private-client practice with the direct client relationships, professional development opportunities and flexibility of a boutique firm.
We are looking for a mid-level associate who has acquired a strong foundation in sophisticated estate planning and seeks to continue intellectually challenging work within smaller firm offering a bit different model.
Tuthill & Hughes offers associates the opportunity to practice at the highest level without the billable-hour commitment traditionally associated with a large law firm.
Our baseline expectation is 1,400 billable hours annually.
Importantly, the 1,400-hour commitment is not a reduced-hours position or an alternative career track. Associates can progress to partnership while maintaining the firm’s 1,400-hour baseline.
For attorneys who want to work and earn more, our model also provides flexibility. Associates may elect to take on additional billable work, with opportunities for bonus compensation and potentially a significantly higher base salary corresponding to an increased billable-hour commitment.
We believe excellent lawyers should have meaningful control over the balance between their professional commitments and compensation without sacrificing sophisticated work, professional advancement or the opportunity to become a partner.
Our compensation model is designed to recognize both the quality of the lawyer and the level of billable commitment the attorney chooses.
Base compensation for an associate committing to 1400-hours of billable time annually will be between $145,000 and $200,000, depending on level of experience.
Associates who choose to assume a greater billable-hour commitment may earn additional compensation through bonuses and/or a higher base salary.
Tuthill & Hughes LLP is an equal opportunity employer.
