Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Mid-level Air Quality Scientist III to join our Environmental EHS & Air team. This on-site role is based in Beaumont, TX and calls for performing air quality monitoring network tasks, fieldwork installing and maintaining instrumentation, and data collection under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in science, 4 years of related air quality experience, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in air quality compliance and maintaining/repairing electronic instrumentation.
• Valid driver’s license required; able to pass MVR check.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in support of air quality project staff and operation of air quality monitoring networks.
• Work outdoors at client locations to install, maintain, and repair air measurement instrumentation.
• Gather and maintain records of scientific data, including environmental sampling, operations and inspections at client sites.
• Assist with calculations, setup and operation of equipment, inspect equipment and installations for compliance, and maintain project documentation.
• Collect and enter data and apply technical principles under supervision; able to work independently.
• May interface with clients.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Mid-level Air Quality Scientist III to join our growing EHS & Air group within our Environmental business line. This position requires the candidate to work onsite in Beaumont, TX.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Perform a variety of tasks in support of air quality project staff and operation of several air quality monitoring networks.
• Work outdoors at multiple client locations to install, maintain, and repair air measurement instrumentation.
• May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisors, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
• Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
• Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories under supervision.
• Must be able to work independently.
• May occasionally interface with clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
• 4years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in air quality compliance and in maintaining/repairing electronic instrumentation.
• A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
• Due to the nature of this role, U.S Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+years of relevant experience in air quality compliance and in maintaining/repairing electronic instrumentation.
• Valid TWIC card.
• Prior experience with Gas Chromatography is highly desired.
• Computer skills with software installation and basic troubleshooting.

Additional Information

• Relocation will not be offered for this position.

To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $75000 to $90000.
