Job summary

Headquartered in Plymouth, HVA provides EMS to western Wayne County and large events, including U of M athletics. Paramedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide both emergent and non-emergent transport under hospital-approved protocols.

Opportunities for paramedics include training in critical care transport and community paramedicine, with specialty teams such as HazMat medical response, technical rescue, honor guard, tactical EMS, and bicycle medic.

Qualifications

• Valid State of Michigan paramedic license with at least 2 years of work as a paramedic.
• Current UMBC CCEMTP certification.
• ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certified.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving patients and equipment.
• Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical.
• Ability to work nights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high clinical standards in all aspects of care.
• Safely drive and operate ambulances.
• Provide convalescent care, including transporting sick, injured, and convalescent patients to and from medical facilities.
• Proficiently and safely perform patient handling, including stretcher operations, lifting, and loading.
• Treat patients with compassion and respect.
• Interact professionally and courteously with patients, family members, facility staff, and co-workers.

Our paramedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide both emergent and non-emergent transport, delivering patient care under hospital-approved medical protocols. Additional opportunities for paramedics include training in critical care transport and community paramedicine. HVA also has opportunities within their specialty teams including HazMat medical response, technical rescue, honor guard, tactical EMS, and bicycle medic teams.

Requirements
