UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced RN to coordinate staffing and lead the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at UAB St. Vincent’s East in Alabama. The full-time night shift (7p–7a) offers a dynamic environment for clinical growth under an intensivist team.

Qualified candidates must hold Alabama RN licensure with BLS, and ACLS/PALS may be required in certain units within 6 months. Diploma in nursing and professional licensure are required.

Competenze

• RN licensure in Alabama required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• ACLS and PALS may be required in some units within 6 months of hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure/certification required.

Mansioni

• Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.
• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift; contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
• Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring population-appropriate care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating staff.
