MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Tower Technician I to install, maintain, and operate telecommunications equipment across wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave systems. You will climb towers, assist in erection, and ensure site readiness while adhering to safety standards.

This role requires 100% travel and a hands-on, quality-driven approach. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a track record of reliable, safety-conscious work.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment and systems.
• Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles; assemble monopoles and towers.
• Prepare and clean sites, offload material and inventory, install carriers on towers.
• Work with safety standards and regulations; adhere to company policies.

Responsibilities

As a Tower Technician I, you are responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

100% Travel Required

In addition, you will:

• Understand and implement MasTec Communications Group (MNS) Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies (Safety Manual)
• Understand and implement Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI)
• Climb towers and ladders at various heights
• Conduct the erection of various tower types
• Offload material and inventory
• Prepare and clean the sites
• Install new carriers on new-build and existing towers
• Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles
• Assist in the assembly of the monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers
• Assist in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15-foot, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas
• Assist in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguides
• Assist in the installation of all aspects of the electrical site foundations, grounding, and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable
• Complete other duties as assigned

• You have a High School Degree or equivalent, with 8 years of experience
• You have the ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions as printed
• You have a working knowledge of safety standards and regulations
• Possession of an NWSA certification is a plus
• You must have the ability to climb towers, be able to lift 50 lbs., and be capable of working up to 12 hours
• You must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company's policy conditions
• You must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary
• You have the ability and are willing to travel extensively, as required for job-related functions
• You will be able to work out of the market or away from home as work demands
