Job description

Position: Microsoft Senior Solution Architect

Company: Chicago-Based Automation Professional Services Firm

Location: Remote / Hybrid (Chicago-based client)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Reports To: RPA Senior Program Manager

Role Overview

As a Senior Solution Architect, you will lead the full lifecycle design, configuration, and deployment of intelligent automation solutions across a range of enterprise clients. This role blends deep technical expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, and Azure with strong client-facing leadership and advisory responsibilities. You’ll operate in a hands‑on, POD‑based delivery model, collaborating with developers, program managers, and client stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes. You will be responsible for translating business needs into technical designs, leading infrastructure set‑up, and ensuring successful end‑to‑end implementation and post‑launch optimization. The opportunity to convert into a full‑time client role is available based on performance and business alignment.

Employee Value Proposition (EVP)
Purpose

This role offers the opportunity to drive high‑impact automation initiatives that directly influence client success and operational efficiency. You’ll be the bridge between business goals and technical execution, ensuring each solution delivers tangible outcomes in complex, real‑world environments.

Growth

You will be exposed to large‑scale automation transformations involving UiPath Cloud, Azure, Power Platform, and AI‑enhanced agent orchestration. This role is ideal for a rising automation leader looking to deepen technical mastery while stepping into strategic advisory and architectural leadership.

Motivators

If you find energy in solving client problems, designing scalable systems, and seeing your solutions in production — this role offers unmatched visibility and ownership. Your work will be measured not only by code quality but by successful go‑lives, positive MSP scores, and strong client feedback.

Major Performance Objectives
  • Lead Client Automation Solution Architecture: Within the first 30 days, take full ownership of technical design leadership across multiple automation projects. Work directly with client stakeholders to capture business requirements, assess legacy infrastructure, and produce comprehensive architectural plans for cloud migration and pipeline orchestration using UiPath, Azure, and Power Platform.
  • Deliver High‑Impact Solutions End‑to‑End: Within 60–90 days, oversee the successful implementation of at least one automation solution, from initial config to deployment. Lead POD teams in hands‑on build, agent deployment, and solution testing. Achieve client‑defined success metrics including positive team feedback and on‑time launch.
  • Drive Client Satisfaction and Conversion Outcomes: Within 90–120 days, ensure consistent client satisfaction across projects by aligning technical delivery with business outcomes. Proactively gather feedback, track MSP scores, and elevate risks before they impact timelines. Build credibility that positions you for a full‑time client conversion.
Critical Subtasks
  • Establish Technical Baselines and Migration Plans: In the first two weeks, evaluate current infrastructure, agent pipelines, and application dependencies. Collaborate with client IT and security to outline secure, scalable migration plans to UiPath Cloud and Azure.
  • Configure and Deploy Multi-Agent RPA Pipelines: By Day 45, configure agent‑based pipelines that integrate legacy systems (e.g., IXP) with modern platforms. Ensure seamless orchestration of front‑ and back‑end automations using both UiPath and Microsoft tools.
  • Lead CoPilot and Power Platform Integration: Within 60 days, implement Microsoft Power Platform and CoPilot solutions where applicable. Use these tools to enhance automation UX, improve decision‑making, and connect with core business apps.
  • Own Client Discovery and Expectation Management: Throughout the project lifecycle, lead discovery calls to identify business challenges, set realistic expectations, and translate those into deliverable technical requirements. Track changes and maintain scope control.
  • Ensure Testing, UAT, and Post‑Launch Success: By Week 10, manage UAT sessions and ensure client sign‑off. Build post‑deployment monitoring plans and verify early results against expected business outcomes and KPIs.
  • Collaborate in POD‑Based Development Cycles: Actively contribute to short‑cycle agile POD teams delivering incremental functionality. Mentor junior developers as needed and ensure architecture alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Continuously Evaluate and Integrate AI to Improve Performance: Within the first 90–180 days, take ownership of identifying how AI and automation tools can support or enhance the core responsibilities of this role. Evaluate tasks that could be streamlined or enhanced, lead pilots, and embed continuous AI adoption into daily work.
