Overview
Sr. Microsoft Purview Data Governance Consultant to support a large-scale enterprise Purview implementation initiative. This role will partner closely with a newly established Data Governance team to validate the organization\'s governance strategy, provide best practice recommendations related to Microsoft Purview, and assist with hands-on implementation activities.

Work Environment: onsite in Jacksonville, FL
Responsibilities
- Assess and validate existing data governance plans, frameworks, and operating models
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations related to Microsoft Purview implementation and adoption
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align governance policies, compliance requirements, and data management objectives
- Configure and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities across the enterprise environment
- Assist with data classification, labeling, retention, compliance, and data catalog initiatives
- Develop governance standards, procedures, and best practices
- Support integration efforts with Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, Teams, and other enterprise data sources
- Conduct gap assessments and recommend process improvements
- Provide hands-on technical support during deployment and rollout activities
- Partner with security, compliance, legal, and IT teams to ensure governance objectives are met
- Document implementation activities, governance processes, and technical configurations
- Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to internal Data Governance team members
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Information Governance, or Compliance initiatives
- Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Microsoft Purview
- Strong understanding of: Data governance frameworks
- Data classification and labeling
- Data lifecycle management
- Compliance and regulatory requirements
- Data cataloging and metadata management
- Experience within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Ability to balance strategic consulting with hands-on technical execution
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or supporting newly formed Data Governance organizations
- Microsoft certifications related to Purview, Security, Compliance, or Azure
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, and information protection
- Consulting or advisory background preferred
Additional Comments
- Looking for 2-3 strong candidate
- Expected Duration: 6 months to a year...longer if all goes well
- Interview Process: 1-2 interviews - will be very technical
- Only one resource on the team with some knowledge of MS Purview, and he\'s on leave, so no expertise to pull from right now. Need someone that can validate the client\'s plan, data governance strategies as they relate to Purview, and help them then get hands-on keyboard to implement.
