Job summary

Deloitte’s Cyber team helps clients address evolving threats and strengthen governance, protection, and compliance. This Senior Engineering Management Specialist role focuses on designing and implementing Microsoft Purview capabilities to advance data governance across large-scale transformations.

You will work with clients on assessment, design, deployment, and optimization of Purview, eDiscovery, DLP, and Information Protection while coordinating with security and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical consulting, problem-solving, or design for Purview or data governance tech.

Responsibilities

• Assess client data governance and compliance environments and develop Purview capability recommendations (DLP, Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, Information Protection).
• Design and implement Purview solutions for data classification, labeling, retention, and governance across enterprise environments.
• Perform health checks, discovery, and remediation for Purview deployments including audits and policy reviews.
• Support POC, deployment, integration, and post-implementation activities for Purview and related Microsoft security tools.
• Advise clients on governance strategy, lifecycle management, compliance monitoring, and operating model improvements.

As part of this team, you will help clients design and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities that advance data governance, information protection, and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients on large-scale transformation efforts across assessment, design, implementation, and ongoing optimization.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Engineering Management Specialist on the Cyber team, you will be responsible for...

• Assessing client data governance and compliance environments and developing recommendations for Microsoft Purview capabilities, including Data Loss Prevention, Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, and Information Protection.

• Designing and implementing Microsoft Purview solutions to support data classification, labeling, retention, investigation, and governance requirements across enterprise environments.

• Performing technical health checks, discovery, and remediation activities for Microsoft Purview deployments, including audit, privileged access, and policy configuration reviews.

• Supporting proof of concept, deployment, integration, and post-implementation activities for Microsoft Purview and adjacent Microsoft security and compliance technologies.

• Advising clients on data governance strategy, lifecycle management, compliance monitoring, and operating model improvements to strengthen security posture and reduce risk.

Deloitte's Cyber team helps clients build trust in digital environments by protecting communications, products, and data from evolving threats. The practice supports organizations in strengthening access integrity, reducing cyber risk, and advancing secure, compliant operations across the enterprise.

Qualifications

Required:

• 4+ years of experience in technical consulting, client problem-solving, solution architecture, or solution design for Microsoft Purview or Microsoft data governance and compliance technologies
• 4+ years of hands-on experience implementing or operating Microsoft Purview capabilities, including data classification, labeling, protection, eDiscovery, data loss prevention, or compliance reporting
• 4+ years of experience designing and implementing data governance or compliance controls across Microsoft environments, including application integrations
• Bachelor's degree or master's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security, engineering, information technology, or business administration
• Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

• 3+ years of experience with data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, or compliance programs
• 3+ years of experience implementing Microsoft security or compliance solutions focused on data governance
• Experience with Microsoft Purview capabilities such as Information Barriers, Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, Compliance Manager, or Audit
• Microsoft certification such as MS-102
• Industry certification such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,400 to $207,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
