Cephla Inc. is seeking a Member of Technical Staff Intern focused on Smart Microscopy. You will bridge research and engineering, owning projects from concept to production.

Expect hands-on work building ML-driven imaging, real-time analysis, and adaptive control for automated microscopes and robotics integrations. The role involves collaborating with founders, researchers, and external partners across academia and biotech.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Physics, Applied Math, or a related field.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated hands-on building experience — open-source contributions, personal projects, research, or internships with shipped software or models.

Responsibilities

• Owns projects from idea to production across research and engineering.
• Builds or deploys ML and computer vision components for smart acquisition decisions.
• Implements online image analysis (segmentation, detection, classification, QC) during acquisition.
• Develops deployment roadmaps to ship robust production-grade software on instruments and automation workcells.
