Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Micromaterials Material Handler 3 (1st shift) in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will stock, pick, and move material in the Micro-Electronics stockroom, using SAP and related systems to track and analyze activity.

The role requires lifting up to 30 pounds, hours under a microscope, and strict adherence to EH&S and cleanroom practices. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of related work experience, or an Associate degree with 2+ years.
  • Experience documenting product/material information clearly.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and instructions.
  • Experience with precision tooling and handling equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Stock, pick, consolidate, and move material in the microelectronics stockroom.
  • Support production by stocking, picking for kitting, and material pulls.
  • Maintain ESD and cleanliness controls to prevent contamination and damage.
  • Document and trace material movements using SAP and work instructions.
  • Follow EH&S procedures and PPE requirements for safe handling.
  • Coordinate with engineering/quality/production on holds and process changes.
  • Use precision tooling and microscopes for inspection and handling of small parts.
  • Assemble/repair/reassemble precision components as needed.

The Material Handler responsibilities will include: Stocking, picking, consolidating, and moving material within the Micro-Electronics stockroom and to the Micro-Electronics manufacturing areas using Waffle Packs & ESD sensitive containers. The selected candidate will utilize SAP inventory systems to transact, track, and analyze material activity. The individual will efficiently utilize space and equipment within the Micro-Electronic storeroom to meet established priorities and comply with company PrOPs.What you will get to do:Stocking: Receive material into the Micro-Electronics stockroom and bin into unique locations.Picking: Issue material from stock to the production floor in support of kitting, line stoppers, & manual pulls.Consolidating: Efficiently utilizing space by consolidating similar material together within unique bin locations.ESD and cleanliness control: Apply Northrop Grumman ESD practices and follow cleanroom/handling procedures to prevent contamination, corrosion, or surface damage that can cause poor adhesion.Documentation & traceability: Complete work instructions and records accuratelySafety & material compliance: Follow Northrop Grumman's EH&S chemical handling/Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safety procedures; ensure proper waste handling and storage of hazardous materials.Cross-functional coordination: Communicate with engineering/quality/production teams on holds, escapes, supplier issues, and process changes; participate in continuous improvement.Specialize Tooling: Use precision picking instruments to ensure safe handling of small/fragile components.Microscope and manual dexterity operations: Perform precision inspection and handling of microelectronic components using a microscope and fine motor skills to ensure parts meet quality and configuration requirements.Product Builds: Assembles, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions.Certifications: Complete in-house ESD, FOD, and other applicable certifications.Systems: Use Enterprise Resource Planning Software such as Systems Applications Products in Data Processing (SAP).Use of Microsoft Office products. (EX.
