Job summary

Shennon Bio in San Francisco's Dogpatch is seeking a part-time laboratory technician to support fabrication and testing of microfluidic devices and general lab upkeep. You will work 10-15 hours weekly across 2-3 days, collaborating with researchers to refine fabrication protocols while maintaining cleanroom and safety standards.

The role requires pursuing an engineering degree and hands-on microfabrication exposure; injection molding is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
  • Experience with microfabrication techniques and cleanroom protocols.
  • Familiarity with microfluidic device fabrication.
  • Injection molding and solvent bonding experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in design and fabrication of microfluidic devices using photolithography, soft lithography, and other relevant methods.
  • Prepare and maintain cleanroom and BSL-2 environments, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals and materials.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results.
  • Collaborate with researchers to develop and optimize fabrication protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines.
