Job summary

Axoftis seeks a Microfabrication Cleanroom Manager to maintain critical microfabrication equipment, manage materials and chemicals, and ensure compliant cleanroom operations as we transition to controlled manufacturing.

The role reports to the microfabrication team lead and collaborates with Quality to sustain uptime, coordinate vendor service, and provide audit-ready documentation for IQ/OQ/PQ and process-control activities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with maintaining semiconductor tools; etchers, sputtering systems, photolithography tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own semiconductor equipment for deposition, etch, lithography, and metrology.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
• Manage vendor service contracts and track maintenance activities.
• Maintain equipment logs and audit-ready documentation.
• Provide calibration data and tool performance information supporting IQ/OQ/PQ, MSA, and process capability assessments.
• Ensure documentation meets QMS requirements and supports inspections.
• Oversee cleanroom daily operations, chemical inventory, and waste management.
• Support process development and documentation for continuous improvement.

Axoftis building the most advanced infrastructure for implantable brain-machine interfaces,enablinglong-term stable and ultra-high bandwidth communication with the brain.TheMicrofabricationCleanroom Managersupports the scale-up of regulated manufacturing bymaintainingcritical microfabrication equipment, managing consumables and chemicals, and ensuring compliant cleanroom operations. You will work closely with Microfabrication, Operations, and Qualityparticularly the Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineerto uphold QMS-aligned workflows, provide audit-ready equipment documentation, support IQ/OQ/PQ and process-control activities, and contribute operational insight that strengthens process stability and readiness for regulated production.

Position Overview

Axoftis seeking aMicrofabricationCleanroom Managertomaintaincriticalmicrofabricationequipment,managematerialsand chemicals,andensurecompliantcleanroomoperationsas we transition from development into controlledmanufacturing.In this roleyou willreport to the microfabrication team leadandcollaborate with Microfabrication, Operations, and Quality to sustain equipment uptime, coordinate vendor service, maintain audit-ready documentation, and supply maintenance and calibration data required for IQ/OQ/PQ, process validation, and process-control activities. As bandwidth allows, you will also support process development and continuous improvement withinAxoft’smicrofabrication pipeline.
The ideal candidate bringshands-on experience withmaintainingsemiconductor equipment such as etchers, sputtering systems, andphotolithographytools.Experience in regulated manufacturing is valuable but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Ownership & Maintenance

• Serve as primary owner for semiconductor tools (deposition, etch, lithography, and metrology).

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, calibrations, and basic troubleshooting to maximize equipment uptime.

• Manage vendor service contracts and track maintenance activities.

• Maintain equipment logs, spare parts inventories, and documentationrequiredfor audit-ready operation.

• Provide Quality with equipment records, calibration data, and tool performance information supporting IQ/OQ/PQ, MSA, and process capability assessments.

• Ensure equipment documentation meets QMS requirements and supports internal/external inspections.

Lab Operations, Materials & Waste Management

• Oversee daily operations of the cleanroom, ensuring safe and compliant workflows.

• Manage chemicalinventory, including ordering, tracking, SDS documentation, and proper storage.

• Ensure gowning materials, PPE, wipes, andconsumablesare stocked and organized.

• Handle chemical waste, sharps, and general lab waste streams in accordance withEHS requirements.

• Support cleanroom protocols, inspections, spill preparedness, and general safety infrastructure.

• Partner with Quality tomaintaincompliant documentation, environmental monitoring, and audit readiness.

• Ensure cleanroom operations align withAxoft’sregulated QMS and support traceability and documentation control.

Vendor & Contract Management

• Maintain relationships with equipment vendors, facilities partners, and service providers.

• Evaluate new vendors, tools, and service options asAxoft’sfabrication capabilities expand.

• Coordinate with Quality to ensure new equipment or services meet qualification and documentation requirements.

Process Support & Development

• Assistengineers with developing, optimizing, and documenting semiconductor processes.

• Run test wafers, collect data, and support experiments aimed at improving yield, stability, and repeatability.

• Contribute toprocessdocumentation, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide operational data for SPC, yield tracking, Cp/Cpkstudies, and MSA.

• Work with Quality to ensure process changes and experiments are documented in controlled formats and aligned withprocess-controlstrategies.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering ordemonstratedexpertisegained through significant industry experience.

Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.

• Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, cleanroom operations, or tool ownership.

• Experience in regulated environments is a plus but notrequired.

• Experience supporting process development or manufacturing scale-up is a plus.

• Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ, process validation, orprocesscontrolactivities is a plus.

• Experience supporting process development or manufacturingscaleupis a plus.
