Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks a Microelectronics Test Technician 2 to test, troubleshoot, and repair RF electronics at the component level, following detailed procedures and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of industry-related experience.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting RF electronics.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
  • Experience reading schematics and drawings.
  • MS Office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair microelectronics hardware at component level.
  • Follow detailed test procedures and provide feedback to engineering for improvements.
  • Operate test equipment, environmental chambers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Read schematics and drawings to troubleshoot, repair, and assemble modules and systems.
  • Conduct tests and report data in prescribed formats.
  • Follow all program and site security requirements.
  • Work in a team with daily communication; meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule including extended shifts; 2nd shift 9/80 or 5/40.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Microelectronics Test Technician 2 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

What you'll get to do:
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair microelectronics hardware at component level
  • Following detailed written test procedures, electronic work instructions (eWIs) and provide feedback to engineering as needed for process improvements.
  • Operate test equipment, environmental chambers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, network/signal analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, torque wrenches, etc.
  • Read and interpret detailed schematics, engineering drawings, technical publications, maintenance manuals, and written instructions to troubleshoot, repair, and assemble modules, subassemblies, and systems.
  • Conduct tests and report data in the prescribed format, using predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or products.
  • Follow all program and site security requirements.
  • Pay attention to detail with a focus on quality output, work in a team environment where daily communication and interaction are required.
  • Work in a production and repair environment with production goals and deadlines
  • Perform work responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that includes extended shifts, may include holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Will be assigned to work on 2nd shift, working a 9/80 schedule (9-hour shifts with every other Friday off) or the regular 5/40 schedule (8-hour shifts M-F).
Basic Qualifications for Microelectronics Test Technician 2:
  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of industry-related experience.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting RF electronics
  • Experience with reading and interpreting detailed schematics and drawings
  • MS Office experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate of Science or technical degree in electronics technology
  • Military experience and education working with electronic equipment and systems
  • Knowledge in RF electronics, including tuning, testing, and/or troubleshooting RF filters and amplifiers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system to document testing performed, enter test results, & create Quality Notifications
  • Experience with continuous improvement and process improvement principles
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Experience with ESD (electrostatic discharge) and FOD (foreign object damage) control.
  • Experience with CUI (controlled unclassified information) and COMSEC (communications security).
  • Experience using and working with and under a microscope

Primary Level Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $89,100.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
