The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Microelectronics Process Engineer to support the stand‑up and maturation of a new microelectronics line at our Linthicum, MD facility—the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL). ATL is located outside Baltimore, Maryland, where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers, as well as emerging technology programs. Our foundry supports a range of production microelectronic devices—including Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, and Carbon Nanotubes—and provides leading‑edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable several of Northrop Grumman’s ground‑based radars, avionics radars, and space systems.
The Microelectronics Process Engineer reports to the Assembly & Process Engineering Manager and will drive tool selection, recipe development, validation, and maintenance of automation equipment such as automated wafer probers and packaged device test handlers. Objectives include ensuring efficient tool utilization, optimizing hardware/software integration for electrical testing, supporting production sustainment, developing and executing process/equipment improvement projects, and collaborating closely with Test Engineering and Equipment Engineering groups. The engineer will also perform tool qualifications, periodic validations, and preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating to specified standards.
Primary Level: $87,600.00 – $131,400.00
Secondary Level: $108,800.00 – $136,000.00
These ranges are guidelines; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining base offers.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and share in company results.
