Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Microelectronic Technician in Apopka, FL. Responsibilities include operating semiconductor processing equipment, performing deposition, etching, and metrology tasks, and ensuring process quality with engineering collaboration.

  • 2 years in manufacturing and/or 1 year in semiconductor (cleanroom) manufacturing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsabilidades

  • Operate fabrication equipment for processing semiconductor materials and devices per process docs, including deposition, evaporation, etching, plating, wafer dicing/thinning, and adjustments.
  • Inspect processes (resist/develop, photo exposure, metallization, etching) to assess quality and discuss improvements with engineers.
  • Interpret SPC charts to respond to out-of-control conditions and prepare reports.
  • Place lots on hold per engineering guidance, manage MES documentation, and perform gage R&R studies.
  • Handle wafers in FOUPs and manipulate them with appropriate tooling.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Microelectronic Technician to join our team in Apopka, FL.

What You’ll Get To Do
  • Run fabrication equipment for processing semi-conductor materials and devices under the guidance of process documentation which includes the set-up and operation of a variety of standard and special solid state processing equipment. This includes performing various chemical, physical, photographic, and packaging processes such as deposition, evaporations and etching of materials, metals plating, wafer dicing /thinning, and making/requesting adjustments based upon the knowledge of process and procedures, and monitoring equipment when applicable.
  • Examine processes such as resist/develop processing, photo exposure, metallization and etching to determine quality of process to locate defects. Determine and discuss with engineer possible improvement in process or equipment to remedy defects.
  • Interpret SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts to react to out-of-control conditions to maintain process control. Prepare reports or parts of reports following established patterns. Covering work assignments such as preparing masks, operating photographic equipment and development of photographic requirements.
  • Placing lots on hold, based on engineering guidance, disposition lots and document in MES. Performing tasks such as running split lots for engineering, ensuring special processing is consistent and on time. Performing gage R&R (Repeatable & Reproducibility) studies for metrology equipment.
  • Manipulate the wafers in a FOUP (Front Opening Unified Pod) to 25 pounds and with a wand as applicable to lift, hold, move and manipulate.
Basic Qualifications For The Microelectronics Technician 2
  • High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years of relevant electronics work experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related STEM field.
  • 2 years prior manufacturing experience and/or 1 year of semiconductor (cleanroom) manufacturing experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of experience running manual semiconductor process equipment including manual coat Photolithograph equipment for a back-end processing line.
  • Experience in data collection and interpretation.
  • Wafer handling experience, placing lots on hold and disposition of held material.
  • Security Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
