Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Waterford, CT is seeking a Microbulk Driver (CDL A) to deliver bulk liquid argon to customers on scheduled routes locally and regionally. You will operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle and ensure safety and compliance while providing reliable customer service.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, start time 6:30 am, and hourly pay of $35.50 with quarterly bonuses. Airgas provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k)

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and tanker endorsements.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers.
• Must have at least 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 5 years.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs, and occasionally 76+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle to deliver bulk gaseous products on designated routes.
• Provide timely communication to the distribution manager or customers regarding changes.
• Record all transactions and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety and compliance.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company during deliveries.

Our CDL Bulk Drivers are the face of the company while safely delivering bulk gaseous products to customers on scheduled routes, both locally and regionally. Microbulk driver will be responsible for doing daily scheduled deliveries of bulk liquid argon.

• Vehicle Operation: Operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle to deliver bulk gaseous products along designated routes.
• Customer Service: Provide timely communication back to your distribution manager or customer's salespeople regarding any changes related to the customer.
• Documentation: Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Safety and Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintaining the vehicle's condition.
• Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid Class A CDL.
• Must have HAZMAT and tanker endorsement .
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Must have at least 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.
