Job summary

Actalent in De Pere, WI is seeking a Microbiology Lab Technician to perform analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples, applying approved techniques to ensure quality and safety.

The role includes preparing samples, aseptic technique, QC monitoring, record-keeping, and maintaining lab conditions. The work schedule is Monday–Friday, 4pm–12:30am, with opportunities for learning and advancement within the organization.

Qualifications

• Degree in the Sciences is preferred but not required.
• Candidates with laboratory or quality experience without a degree will be considered.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
• Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
• Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, and running media controls.
• Independently pursue an assigned series of processes and procedures in accordance with policies/procedures and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory conditions, including equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.
• Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
• Share information in an open and timely manner.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 4pm to 12:30am.

The role offers opportunities for learning and advancement within the

organization. The company promotes employees internally at both local and

national levels. Pay begins at $19.50/hour with potential flexibility based on experience. (Disregard where it says $18).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
