Randstad USA in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a Microbiology Lab Technician I for an on-site contract role. You will perform high-throughput microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples in a fast-paced QC environment, with multiple evening shift options.

Responsibilities include preparing samples, culture media, QC checks, equipment readiness, and strict adherence to SOPs and ISO guidelines. Requires strong attention to detail and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Life Sciences OR a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience.
• Fundamental understanding of microbiology laboratory practices and safety protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to strictly adhere to written SOPs in a regulated testing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

• Prepare food, ingredient, and environmental samples for indicator organisms and pathogen testing using strict aseptic techniques.
• Prepare and monitor culture media, reagents, and laboratory equipment to ensure full operational readiness.
• Perform routine quality control checks, including incubator temperature tracking and control organism inoculations.
• Execute laboratory maintenance, biohazard waste disposal, sanitization, and consumable inventory tracking.
• Maintain complete, traceable laboratory documentation while adhering to ISO guidelines and SOPs.
• Escalate testing deviations and non-conformances promptly to laboratory management.
