Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; minimum 3 years specimen processing/clinical lab experience.
• Associate's degree in health or science; 2 years experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Routinely performs advanced or moderately complex pre-analytic specimen receiving and processing using proper safety procedures.
• Assist in blood issuing and distribution, perform moderate complexity testing and pre-analytic work in specialized laboratory areas.
• Maintain and document send-out lab requisitions and billing; train new team members or colleagues needing assistance.
• Triages specimens according to level of complexity and patient history; prepare and package mail-out kits.
• Respond to inquiries; use multiple computer systems and electronic health records; ensure patient identification.
• Work schedule may include off-shifts, holidays and weekends.
