Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Covista syllabus following campus template.
  • Organizes, prepares, and revises all course materials regularly.
  • Uses online technologies and course-related software to prepare and share content with students.
  • Models effective oral and written communication to engage students.
  • Publishes course objectives, assignment dates, and grading weight distributions.
  • Ensures exam content aligns with course objectives and provides timely feedback.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned and complies with policies.

We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in Indianapolis, IN.

_ _ Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS-242)__

Days: Monday's & Wednesday's, 9am - 12pm

Eve's: Monday's & Wednesday's, 5:30pm - 8:30pm

This course covers basic concepts of microbiology, with emphasis on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. Also addressed are microscopy, microbial growth and genetics, antimicrobial agents, epidemiology and immune system responses to pathogens. Lab exercises focus on aseptic techniques, isolation and culture of microorganisms, microscopy and staining techniques.

Courses meet on campus twice a week, for eight week sessions. This face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops and provides students with an approved Covista syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
  • Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES approved US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US) Required
Additional Information
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus:

_In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
