Role Description

The Microbiology Analyst role is a contract, on-site position based in Aibonito. The Microbiology Analyst will perform routine and specialized microbiological testing, including environmental monitoring, bioburden testing, sterility checks, and microbial identification, in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing media and reagents, documenting results accurately, and supporting investigations related to out-of-specification or atypical findings. The role also involves collaborating with quality and production teams, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that all laboratory activities comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications
  • Strong microbiology knowledge and practical Microbiology experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated Laboratory Skills, including aseptic techniques and handling of Laboratory Equipment.
  • Experience in Quality Control processes, including testing, documentation, and adherence to GLP/GMP.
  • Effective Analytical Skills for data interpretation, troubleshooting, and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow written procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work on-site in Aibonito, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities.
