Job summary

Bright Innovation Labs seeks a detail-oriented microbiology technician to perform basic analyses on finished products, raw materials, and water. You will sample, test, and record results, ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety regulations while coordinating with QC, Production, and R&D teams.

The role involves environmental monitoring, instrument maintenance, and assisting with Gram staining and identification of contaminants under supervision. Shift work and weekend coverage are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; prior QA lab experience required.
• BS in Microbiology or Chemistry or related sciences preferred.
• Experience with gram stains, sub-culturing and identification of microorganisms.
• Familiarity with FDA GMP regulations and OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect and test microbiological samples from raw materials, finished products, and water.
• Record results in laboratory records and electronic systems.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Conduct environmental monitoring under supervision from the Plant Hygienist and Microbiology Lead.
• Investigate Out-of-Specifications (OOS) and perform root cause analyses.
• Prepare media and reagents for microbial testing and plate assays.
• Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with cGMP and safety regulations.
