Job summary

Manus is hiring a Microbiologist for our Augusta, Georgia facility. This full-time role is embedded in the QA/QC team and focuses on microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and data integrity to support GMP-compliant production.

Responsibilities include routine microbial testing, pathogen screening, and contributing to CAPA investigations while maintaining GLP/GMP documentation and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or related discipline required.
• 3+ years of microbiology experience in a QC lab within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or related manufacturing.
• Hands-on microbiology methods and aseptic technique; strong documentation and GMP/food-safety knowledge.
• Experience executing and trending environmental monitoring programs.
• Familiarity with LIMS and data trending.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiology testing (aerobic/TPA, yeast/mold, coliforms/E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae).
• Conduct pathogen screening/confirmation per validated methods.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment with strict aseptic technique.
• Support method verification/validation and onboarding of rapid microbiological methods.
• Execute EMP and sanitation verification; trend data to identify hotspots.
• Investigate OOS and lead micro root-cause analysis; support CAPA.
• Record and trend data in LIMS; generate microbiology reports.
• Support GMP, FSMA, HACCP, and audits; maintain SOPs.
