Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Microbiologist (Environmental and Utilities Monitoring) in Rahway, NJ for a full-time, hourly role. You will support GMP environmental monitoring in cleanrooms, utilities testing, and microbiology for finished products within the Analytical Research and Development Microbiology team.

Responsibilities include performing EM sampling, operating EM instruments, trend data, CAPA support, and collaboration with Quality, Pipeline, and Operations.

Formación

• Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience for MS holders or 3 years for BS in Microbiology or related Biological Sciences with GMP microbiology testing experience
• A proven record of microbiology laboratory experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge and experience of microbiology testing in environmental monitoring, aseptic manufacturing, and utilities testing in GMP environments
• Knowledge of current microbiology guidelines and compendia
• US work authorization without restrictions

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine viable and non‑viable Environmental Monitoring of classified cleanroom areas (Grad A-D), including surfaces, air, and equipment
• Conduct active air, passive air (settle plates), and surface sampling following GMP EM programs
• Operate and maintain EM instruments (viable air samplers, particle counters, RODAC plates, isolator/BSC tools)
• Execute aseptic sampling techniques to ensure data integrity and contamination-free samples
• Perform utility sampling/testing (WFI, purified water, clean steam) and support water system monitoring
• Perform microbiology testing of EM samples (bioburden, microbial identification, endotoxin testing)
• Trend, analyze, and interpret EM data; escalate out-of-trend results and support investigations
• Participate in deviation investigations, root-cause analyses, and CAPA related to environmental/microbial events
• Maintain ALCOA-compliant documentation and inventory records
• Conduct microbiology finished goods testing and biological indicator testing
• Support sterile operations in QC including isolator-based sterility testing and related QC testing in clean rooms
• Execute experiments with rigorous data integrity and proper documentation
• Collaborate with Quality, Pipeline, and Operations; support audits
• Perform second scientist review of microbiology experiments per GMP expectations
• Support internal and external audit activities
• May require weekday and weekend flexibility
