Overview

Role: Micro/nanofabrication process engineer

Responsibilities

• Fabrication: Fabricate micro/nanoscale devices in university cleanroom facilities and continuously drive process improvements.
• Characterization: Perform micro/nanoscale characterization (e.g., SEM, AFM, high-resolution optical microscopy, thin film metrology) to deeply understand and enhance device performance.
• Integration & Testing: Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot processes for integrating devices, rigorously testing their compatibility and performance with chemical and biological systems.
• Experimentation: Design and execute hands-on experiments with an exceptionally high level of attention to detail and data integrity.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with chemists, biologists, and machine learning engineers to align hardware capabilities with broader system requirements.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering or science discipline (Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field)
• Demonstrated ability and comfort in quickly learning new tools, equipment, and experimental workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or 1+ year of industry experience
• Hands on experience in a cleanroom environment and familiarity with micro/nanofabrication and characterization techniques
