Beauty Quest Group, a leading cosmetics manufacturer, seeks a microbiology lab technician for quality control of cosmetic and OTC products. You will process samples, perform bioburden testing, collect environmental samples, and document results in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Required is a Biology or related science degree (microbiology preferred) with aseptic technique experience. The role is on 1st shift in Illinois, with overtime and potential weekend work as production needs require.

Your Role:

Perform routine microbiology lab procedures related to the quality control of cosmetic and OTC production.

Essential functions:

• Process incoming samples.
• Perform bioburden testing of raw material, in-process, and finished goods.
• Collect and test microbial environmental samples.
• Accurately document work performed.
• Prepare culture media and reagents.
• Assist in inventory control of lab media and supplies.
• Follow safety rules and safe operating procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work area.
• Dispose of biohazards following all safety regulations.
• Perform additional duties as directed or assigned by management.

Skills, Abilities, and Education:

• Degree in Biology or other Natural Sciences. Microbiology degree preferred with experience working in a microbiology lab environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Ability to follow directions carefully and accurately.
• Ability to perform procedures accurately and efficiently; work independently and with a team; maintain good working relationship with other staff.
• Must have neat and legible handwriting.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE

• Work is performed in a manufacturing/packaging environment with moving equipment, noise, and temperature variation. Personal protective equipment may be required (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection). Overtime, shift changes, and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand/arm motions throughout the shift.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly pay for this role is $24.00 per hour.
