Job summary

Red Oak Management Co, Inc. seeks a Michigan Property Manager to oversee affordable housing properties in Kent City and surrounding areas. This full-time role reports to management and offers an $22–$26 hourly wage, with responsibilities spanning vacancies, repairs, rent issues, and staff training.

You will start from the predecessor and may respond to rare after-hours emergencies. A background check is required, and travel within the assigned area using your own vehicle is expected.

Qualifications

• Affordable housing property management experience.
• Fair housing training or certification.
• Understanding of compliance rules, laws, and processes (at least minimal level).
• Ability to travel regularly within assigned area using own vehicle.
• Experience coaching peers or working in a leadership capacity (preferred).
• Additional compliance certifications or knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, or Rural Development regulations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Track vacancies, repairs, and rent issues and report to the main office.
• Help train staff and ensure everyone follows company rules.
• Support the teams at each property.
• You will start with help from the previous person in this role to ensure a smooth transition.

Red Oak Management Co, Inc. is looking for a Michigan Property Manager to join our team in Kent City, MI. This full-time job pays $22 – $26 per hour and covers the areas of Sand Lake, Grant, Muskegon, White Cloud, Baldwin, Hart, Sheridan, and Stanton. You will help ensure our affordable housing properties are well-run and make a positive difference in the community. You will also have a chance to grow as our company grows.

You will work 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Your shift will usually be between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You will start each day from your own home and go straight to the properties you manage. Sometimes, you may need to respond to an emergency after hours, but this is rare.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A MICHIGAN PROPERTY MANAGER?

Each day, you will work side by side with property staff, helping them do their jobs better. You will track things like vacancies, repairs, and rent issues, and let the main office know what is going on. You will help train staff, make sure everyone follows company rules, and support the teams at each property. As you start the job, you will have help from the person who did this job before, so you will not be alone.

Must have the ability to pass a background check.
