Job summary

USMD Hospital At Arlington LP is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the nursing department and ensure high-quality patient care in coordination with the hospital's leadership. Job description

Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department. Oversees/provides for staffing plans / schedules; compliance with productivity targets. In conjunction with organizational strategic plans, identifies opportunities for departmental improvements and implements appropriate action plans to optimize department outcomes. Provides departmental needs assessment; identifies goals, develops and implements action plans in order to achieve objectives. Develops, revises and maintains departmental policies and procedures as indicates. Promotes and maintains positive relations with continuum of care providers.

Education & Qualifications

Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing required, BSN required.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Current Nursing License from the state of Texas required. BLS and ACLS certification must be completed upon hire. The Registered Nurse must be PALS certified upon hire if the department is either PACU or ER. In the ER department ENPC or TNCC certifications are also preferred.

Work Experience

5 years of clinical experience preferred.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
