Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a CVN75 Program Manager to support the Ship Operations Director(s) at Newport News Shipbuilding. You will guide construction, evaluate growth work and lead the impact analysis team, with heavy focus on schedule and resource alignment.

The role requires extensive program management experience, strong customer liaison skills and the ability to direct cross-functional teams across technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree with progressive professional experience.
  • Military paygrade E-5 or above is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, or military environments.
  • Ability to lead program reviews and negotiations with customers.

Salary Range:$160,000.00 to$202,000.00

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range

The Role

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities tied to construction, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

This position will serve as the CVN75 Program Manager to support the Ship Operations Director(s). This individual will support the construction and deckplate teams and be heavily focused on evaluation of growth work and leading the impact analysis team. Understanding of the build sequence is desirable. RCOH Construction, Planning and/or Engineering background is preferred.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience

  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
