Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Manager Procurement 2 in Pascagoula, MS. This full-time role focuses on sourcing machinery, equipment, tools, and services, analyzing price trends, and negotiating with suppliers to achieve lowest cost while meeting quality and schedule requirements.

You will review proposals, select suppliers, maintain records, and support bid packages. Hybrid telework is available, with occasional on-site work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent).
• Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience preferred.

The Role

Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare bid packages.

Must Have

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience), plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience.
