Job summary

Corden Pharma Colorado is seeking a senior site utilities and facilities leader to manage utilities, infrastructure, and MRO programs across Colorado and Boulder facilities. You’ll supervise engineering and maintenance teams, drive cost efficiencies, and partner with EH&S to meet regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes budget stewardship, project oversight, and ensuring reliable operations for pharmaceutical manufacturing support, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; 10+ years in related field preferred.
  • Pharma/GMP experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee utilities management (electric, gas, water, nitrogen) and budget adherence.
  • Manage site utilities production and maintenance of infrastructure and equipment.
  • Lead maintenance, facilities, I&E, and EHS collaboration; manage team performance.

SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of groups and activities, at both the Corden Pharma Colorado and Corden Pharma Boulder sites, to provide site needs for utilities (both procured and produced), site and building infrastructure, mechanical maintenance, instrumentation & electrical systems, and SAP maintenance information systems. Targets are to develop capabilities within areas managed and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of resources provided. Strong focus on solid task management through subordinate leads. Strong emphasis on cost effective and efficient management of budgeted funds to achieve necessary outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages supply and cost of electric, gas, water, and nitrogen through effective budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and cost improvements. Targets utility usage reduction and waste minimization through energy conservation efforts to reduce budget allocations
  • Manages the production of site utilities to include steam, cooling tower water, low temperature cooling, compressed air, nitrogen, and purified water systems
  • Manages the maintenance, enhancement, and modification to chemical processing equipment, buildings, HVAC, air supply and exhaust, internal areas, offices, and common areas
  • Manages instrumentation and electrical systems including installation, upgrades, calibration, compliance, and maintenance of said equipment
  • Manages data and information regarding equipment specification, maintenance, and history of systems involved
  • Manages employees to enhance team functions while coaching and developing them as individuals. Assesses individual performance and facilitates activities within and between teams
  • Manages site budgets for Maintenance, Facilities, I&E, and related utilities systems. Monitors budget goals and metrics with strong focus on achieving budget targets
  • Assists EH&S Group with contractor safety compliance program. Assists in general site certification and permitting requirements to the extent necessary, with significant input from EH&S Department
  • Reviews and approves capital projects within the utility, maintenance, facilities, and I&E areas. Assists with the management of capital projects within allotted budget to desired outcomes with emphasis on quality, serviceable installations, and cost target compliance
  • Manages the Site Qualification System to include equipment/system impact assessments, IQ/OQ generation and implementation, periodic reviews, and qualification filing and storage (electronic/hardcopy)
  • Manages the MRO Program to include purchasing, receiving and maintaining parts stock, maintaining critical spares, working with vendors to negotiate best price on consumables, etc.
  • May be designated as deputy of the Site Security Officer during absences
LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages 5 or more employees and departmentally contracted support personnel. Conducts all managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, regulatory compliance, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline from a 4-year college or university, and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in pharmaceuticals or GMP environment is strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
