Role Description

The Mgr Infection Prevention role is a full-time, on-site position based in Fresno, CA. The manager oversees the hospital's infection prevention program, including surveillance, monitoring, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing infection data, analyzing trends, collaborating with clinical and support departments, and recommending evidence-based practices to reduce infection risk. This role leads the development and implementation of infection prevention policies, conducts staff education and training, and participates in performance improvement initiatives. The manager works closely with nursing, medical staff, and hospital leadership to ensure compliance with national guidelines and support a culture of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Clinical leadership experience with strong skills in Nursing Management and team coordination
• Solid clinical background in Nursing and Patient Care in acute care or similar settings
• Knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine relevant to infection prevention and control
• Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention programs in a hospital environment
• Familiarity with CDC, APIC, Joint Commission, and other regulatory/industry standards related to infection control
• Ability to analyze clinical data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams and leadership
• Strong skills in staff education, policy development, and change management
• Registered Nurse (RN) or other relevant clinical license preferred; certification in infection control (CIC) is highly beneficial
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field; advanced degree is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, lead initiatives, and maintain confidentiality and professional integrity
