Job summary

Atmos Energy seeks an experienced Engineering leader to oversee Enterprise Integrity Management, guiding data analysis and risk assessment for thousands of miles of gas mains. You will lead engineers and data analysts, administer programs, and coordinate cross-functional teams across multiple states to ensure safety, compliance and reliable gas delivery.

The role requires a PE license, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and 7+ years in related fields.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • Strong communication and ability to influence internal/external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient with data analysis and engineering computations; comfortable with MS Excel and related tools.
  • Experience with management of integrity programs, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on system safety and integrity, engineering design, regulation and measurement, and project management.
  • Perform technical reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain operating standards for public safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee technical projects and engineering-related software/tool design.
  • Lead regulatory reporting across storage, transmission and distribution assets as needed.
  • Support annual capital budget development and resource planning.
  • Monitor capital projects to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
  • Establish material and product standards and qualifications for company use.
  • Implement policies and standards for proper administration of activities.
  • Manage functional area budgets and resource planning to meet goals.
  • Monitor system designs and flow models to ensure accurate gas measurement and service reliability.
  • Maintain staffing levels and supervise performance of assigned personnel.
  • Champion safety culture and wellness initiatives across teams.

Job description

As a leader in the Safety and Enterprise Services Enterprise Integrity Management team, responsibilities for this role also include:· Support data and risk analysis for Atmos Energy’s 75,000 miles of distribution mains and 6,700 miles of transmission pipelines.· Lead team of Engineers and Data Analysts to provide service/support to Atmos Energy’s operating divisions.· Administer and maintain company programs, plans, manuals, procedures, practices, and standards for integrity management, laboratory testing, and pipe replacement prioritization.· Support audits, inspections, investigations, and litigation.· Coordinate cross-functional subject matter experts and stakeholder teams across Atmos' states and operating divisions.Thie ideal candidate would possess the following skills/experience:· Proficient in MS Excel.· Familiarity with Transmission Integrity, Distribution Integrity a plus.· Familiarity with databases, database applications (i.e. MS Access), data analysis a plus.· Familiarity with GIS, geospatial data a plus.· Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools a plus (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).· Familiarity with modeling & analysis, reliability engineering, asset management a plus.· Familiarity with corrosion management, NACE certifications a plus.THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITIONPrimary Duties1. Provides technical review of projects, proposals, tools, reports, and equipment to assure compliance with Company standards, contracts, and regulatory requirements.3. Develops and maintains operating and maintenance standards for the Company in order to assure public safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.4. Oversees various technical projects and assists in engineering related computer application designs.5. May oversee the creation and filing of local, state, and federal regulatory reports related to the storage, transmission, and distribution assets installed, retired, repaired, and operated in the relevant operating jurisdictions.6. Assists during the annual capital budget development regarding engineering and other related expenditures. Reviews budget requests and makes recommendations for submission and approval.7. Monitors and evaluates capital projects to assure Company standards and regulatory requirements are adhered to during design and construction.8. Evaluates and establishes material and product standards and qualifications for Company use.9. Implements policies, procedures and standards to assure proper administration of activities.10. Develops and monitors functional area budgets to assure efficient utilization of resources. Plans, directs and reviews the achievement of area goals and objectives within established company policies.11. Monitors and maintains system designs and flow models to assure accurate measurement of gas quantity and quality, and reliable natural gas service to customers.12. Maintains adequate staffing levels to assure proper administration of activities. Selects, develops, motivates and evaluates the performance of assigned employees.13. Leads as a culture champion by promoting our vision, strategy, AtmoSpirit principles, and supporting wellness and safety initiatives.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducational/Experience Level:Bachelor's degree in Engineering and seven years of related experience; or equivalent.Licensed Professional Engineer certification required.Communication Skills:Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as employees, supervisors, managers, directors, senior management, and regulators on matters of procedures, codes, and detailed technical information.Numeric Skills:Requires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric, geometric operation or moderately complex statistical methods and/or apply high level accounting methods for financial reporting.Computer Skills:Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications required to create documents, reports and/or graphics.Work Conditions:Primary job responsibilities require work inside an office environment. May require some traveling.
