Qualifications

  • Strong coding and technical skills in Excel, VBA, Python, PowerPoint, and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Measures, monitors, and reports ALM risk metrics and stress tests.
  • Designs, implements, and enhances pricing and risk models.
  • Builds model performance tools and conducts back testing.
  • Calibrates liability crediting strategies to improve client returns.

  • Leads model configuration and production for projects.
  • Prepares documentation for Model Risk Management and regulators.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders on pricing and risk inquiries.

Job description

Asset Liability Management

The Asset Liability Management role applies advanced quantitative, actuarial, financial, and AI expertise to model, measure, and assist with managing risk and return of the organization's assets and liabilities on an integrated basis. This role helps to design, build, and maintain the models, tools, and analytical frameworks used to value investments, project asset and liability behavior, and evaluate performance and risk across a wide range of economic and market environments, and then help to translate these insights into investment, hedging, and product design strategies that optimize financial outcomes and strengthen decision-making for our clients and the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Measures, monitors, and reports Asset Liability Management (ALM) risk metrics (Economic Capital, Effective Duration Gap, etc.) and assistswith stress testing of economic conditions and participant activity to analyze potentialvulnerability to the organization.
  • Designs, implements, and enhances pricing and risk models across diverse asset classes.
  • Builds andenhances model performance-monitoring and reporting tools (including back testing) and performs user acceptance testing.
  • Analyzes and calibrates of liability crediting strategies thatfactor in the firm's capital strength and enhances client returns.
  • Develops and maintains various tools for model-output analysis, scenario-data handling, andrisk/return calculations.
  • Leads model configuration and production for projects and business operations.
  • Prepares documentation for Model Risk Management, Internal Audit, and regulators/rating agencies.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders on pricing and risk inquiries.
  • Solves complex and ambiguous ALM challenges with limited guidance.

  • Investment management and liability-driven asset allocation experience
  • Strong technical and coding skills including Excel, VBA, Python, PowerPoint and artificial intelligence skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, detail-oriented, independent and creative thinking, time management and organizational skills
  • FSA and/or CFA
  • Annuity, pension, or other insurance product experience
  • Experience with stress testing, economic capital and asset strategies
  • Experience with capital markets, various asset classes and economic scenario generation
  • Experience with reinsurance
  • Experience with internal audit and other regulatory reviews

Base Pay Range: $127,000/yr - $167,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
