Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor at our Tolleson, AZ facility to lead plant maintenance and projects in support of SQR and Customer 1st initiatives.

You will supervise crafts, coach staff, ensure OSHA/EPA/FDA compliance, manage planned maintenance, and guide continuous improvement with CMMS-based reporting. The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or 5 years of progressive experience in maintenance supervision.
  • Experience in the food industry dealing with preventive/predictive maintenance process, technical guidance and development of the maintenance work force
  • Functional knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Principles, GMP, EPA and OSHA requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering (desired)
  • Experience in continuous improvement activities (desired)
  • Plant maintenance supervisor (desired)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, efficient and effective use of all supervised craft resources.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Ensure compliance to OSHA, EPA, DHEC, NEC, and FDA regulations.
  • Direct mechanics in maintenance work including quality control, duration, cost and thoroughness.
  • Assign and inspect all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) work orders.
  • Review available planned job packages for completeness and correctness; refine and finalize labor, materials, parts, methods and priorities.
  • Identify, arrange and track the skills training and development needs of each team member; assign mechanics accordingly.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safe work practices throughout the facility.
  • Provide support and leadership in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ensure all labor, parts and work are reported daily through CMMS.
  • Follow Kroger safety and quality principles and food safety requirements.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products containing allergens.

Job description

Lead the effective execution of all plant maintenance and assigned projects, in support of safety, quality and continuous improvement. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Responsibilities

- Ensure a safe, efficient and effective use of all supervised craft resources
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Ensure compliance to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations
- Direct mechanics in the performance of approved maintenance work including quality control, duration, cost and thoroughness
- Assign and inspect all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) work orders
- Review available planned job packages for completeness and correctness; refine and finalize labor, materials, parts, methods and priorities
- Identify, arrange and track the skills training and development needs of each team member; ensure prompt assignment of mechanics to specific jobs relative to individual abilities
- Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed throughout the facility
- Clean shop areas daily, including spare parts room and offices
- Provide support and leadership in troubleshooting equipment
- Ensure all labor, parts and work are reported daily through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products known to contain food allergens

Qualifications

Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree a related field or 5 years of progressive experience in maintenance supervision
