General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) in California (Folsom) seeks an on-site engineer to plan, design, and construct manufacturing facilities and related structures. The role includes evaluating locations, resources, and structural design while solving technical problems to improve production.

Essential functions cover manufacturing method improvements, workforce planning, and collaboration with vendors. Travel up to 25% is possible; the position is safety-sensitive and on-site.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 2-4 years of experience required.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
• Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
• Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.

Pay Range (USD)

$83,950.00 - $113,600.00

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process.

Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.

Paid Time Off

Employees will receive paid holidays and 120 hours of PTO annually and up to 3 weeks paid family leave.
