Job summary

Nokia in Chapman, PA is seeking an Electronics Production Technician to support direct production operations. You will issue materials to the line, run the production line, perform testing and quality controls, and package/release products for delivery.

The role requires strong electronic fundamentals, PCB soldering/repair, wiring skills, and the ability to read schematics. You will work in a dynamic team while following safety and ESD practices.

Qualifications

• AS in Electronics/Electronic Technology or equivalent experience required.
• Electrical wiring and PCB soldering/repair experience required.
• Electrical wiring skills to wire test cabinets, fixtures and sub-assemblies.
• Optical fusion splicing experience required.
• Strong soldering background and PCB repair skills.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Attention to detail and timely communication with team and engineering.
• Ability to work on a ladder and perform physical tasks (50 lbs).
• ESD, safety, and security practices must be followed.
• Proficient in Excel spreadsheet usage.

Responsibilities

Direct Production (DP) covers the overall manufacturing operations of Nokia. Contains the direction and monitoring of business' operational processes concerning production, man and machinery performance, and maintenance, as well as related cost controls, quality, and packaging tasks.

Subfamily Description

Direct Production (DPO) associates with the issuing of material to the production line, running the production line, conducting testing and quality controls, packaging of products, staging products, and releasing of products to the delivery. Contains disposal of waste, the maintenance of machinery and equipment, and the production site as such.

• Mechanical skills required to assemble commercial instruments into test cabinets and make mechanical modifications to the cabinet, shelving, and assemblies as necessary
• Mechanical skills required to assemble test fixtures which can include electro-mechanical assemblies, pneumatic, and heating/cooling assemblies. Ability to make minor adjustments to ensure proper performance
• Strong Electronic Fundamentals
• Electrical wiring skills required to wire test cabinets, test fixtures, and various sub-assemblies and cables that compose the test set. Requires ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings
• Strong soldering background, wire routing/mech connections, and PCB soldering and repair skills
• Troubleshooting of PCB's and various electrical sub-assemblies
• Optical fusion splicing, fiber routing, and optical path troubleshooting
• Attention to details including mark-up of electrical/optical/mechanical drawings and regular communication with team and engineering
• Ability to work on a ladder for maintenance and service installations. Some heavy lifting of ~ 50lbs and physical exertion in moving and positioning test racks, age racks, UPS systems, and various fixtures
• AS in Electronics/Electronic Technology or equivalent experience required
• Electrical wiring and PCB soldering/repair experience required
• Electrical and Optical troubleshooting experience requiredBasic machine fabrication processes (cutting, drilling, bending, etc.) required
• Optical fusion splicing experience required
• Good written and verbal communication skills on a timely basis, including Excel spreadsheet experience
• Ability to work in a flexible dynamic team environment is essential
• Ability to locate needed parts and supplies online - familiar with common electronic/mechanical/optics vendors
