Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is seeking a Metrology Technician to perform dimensional inspections on medical devices using contact and non-contact instruments. You will develop inspection programs on OGP SmartScope and collect data with optical tools, correlating results with GD&T specs.

You will collaborate with engineers and maintain safety protocols when handling biohazardous materials. Applicants should hold a Diploma and be proficient in MS Word/Excel, with strong analytical skills and

Qualifications

• Diploma required in a relevant field.
• Experience with metrology equipment and measurement techniques.
• Ability to read GD&T drawings and apply tolerances.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for data collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections of medical devices and components.
• Collaborate with engineers to define measurement requirements.
• Read blueprints and GD&T specs for complex measurements.
• Develop and execute advanced inspection programs on OGP SmartScope.
• Collect data using optical tools and hand gages.
• Analyze data to troubleshoot and provide practical solutions.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Contact & non contact metrology inspection
• OGP SmartScope advanced programming
• Keyence optical profilometer operation
• Blueprint reading with GD&T
• Optical comparators and digital microscopes
• White light scanning systems
• Hand gages, micrometers, and calipers
• Advanced mathematics (Trigonometry)
• MS Word and Excel proficiency

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections of medical devices and components using contact and non contact metrology equipment
• Collaborate with engineers to understand measurement requirements and recommend optimal inspection techniques
• Read and interpret blueprints including GD&T specifications for complex measurement requests
• Develop and execute advanced inspection programs on OGP SmartScope systems
• Collect dimensional data using optical comparators, digital microscopes, white light scanners, and hand gages
• Analyze and interpret measurement data to troubleshoot issues and guide customers toward practical solutions
• Handle biohazardous materials in accordance with safety procedures (as required)
• Perform additional metrology or lab support duties as assigned

Salary Range: $50,000 -$55,000 year
