Job summary

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Metrology Quality Technician to join our team. You will troubleshoot and resolve test and measurement equipment (T&ME) problems, support manufacturing, inspection, and engineering issues, and drive calibration processes.

You will coordinate calibration recalls, manage external suppliers, and maintain calibration documentation and KPIs while ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Certification in engineering or metrology discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing/metrology field.
  • Experience with GageTrak or other calibration management software.
  • Experience with MS Excel.
  • Experience with Jira and MS D365.
  • General knowledge and experience using CAD software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of spatial analyzer software or similar software.
  • U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal T&ME owners to maintain equipment inventory and ensure equipment is on calibration recall system.
  • Manage contracts with external calibration suppliers and arrange schedule of periodic on-site calibrations and for shipment for off-site calibrations.
  • Work with Supply Chain on notifications when T&ME is procured to ensure it is added to calibration recall system.
  • Maintain a sequestered inventory of extra calibrated T&ME available for use if needed.
  • Develop calibration procedures and ensure documentation conforms to Quality Systems requirements.
  • Perform calibrations and repairs on a variety of parameters, including temperature, physical dimensional, mechanical, and electronics.
  • Use typical laboratory measuring, calibration, and test equipment.
  • Provide activity and status reports to management.
  • Develop and maintain metrics/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to calibration status.
  • Apply experience and knowledge to calibrate and troubleshoot fault isolation, adjustment, and repairs using Test Measure Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) certified laboratory standards.
  • Maintain records of calibration status,test data and assist in writing test procedures and test evaluation reports.
  • Experience using typical metrology and measurement equipment.
  • Perform complex configuration and tests of equipment according to instructions, blueprints, schematic sketches, and prescribed testing procedures.
  • Participate constructively in the utilization of process improvement methods to provide timely, cost-effective, quality services.
  • Perform cleanroom particle count monitoring and maintain associated certification records.
  • Perform Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) workbench and equipment certifications and maintain associated records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Interact effectively with others to produce the desired results

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Metrology Quality Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Metrology Quality Technician will be responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, solving test and measurement equipment (T&ME) problems, and helping with manufacturing, inspection, and engineering issues.

Salary Range

$30 — $41 USD
