Position Summary: As a Metrology and Gage Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring product accuracy, quality, and reliability through precision measurement, gage design, and validation. This position collaborates with Product Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to interpret customer requirements, establish GD&T specifications, and support 3D part designs. Responsibilities include utilizing PolyWorks Inspector to analyze measurement data, troubleshoot production issues, develop and improve gage processes, and oversee daily Metrology Lab operations. Additionally, this role supports calibration systems, dimensional inspections, and process capability studies to ensure compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in metrology, gage design, or a related field with an applicable degree, or 8 years of experience without a relevant degree. A minimum of 3 years of proficiency with PolyWorks Inspector is required, along with hands‑on experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, and pin gages. Experience with PolyWorks DataLoop is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and experience analyzing measurement data to resolve production issues. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
