Job summary

Connexus Energy, based in Ramsey, MN, seeks a collaborative leader to oversee the Metering Team. You will guide metering operations, asset planning, and modernization initiatives to ensure accurate and reliable measurement of member electricity use.

In this role, you will develop employees, set department priorities, and oversee meter installation, testing, and data quality. A strong background in AMI systems and utility operations is essential, along with leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, electrical technology, or related field.
• 3+ years in electric utility metering, AMI operations or related field.
• Familiarity with AMI head-end systems or similar utility technologies.
• Experience leading projects across multiple groups.
• Knowledge of electric utility operations and metering applications.
• Ability to analyze AMI performance and coordinate issue resolution.
• Ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements and explain complex issues.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Metering Team, set priorities and help employees grow.
• Establish department priorities, goals, performance expectations, procedures and service standards.
• Oversee safe, accurate and efficient meter installation, testing, maintenance and replacement.
• Plan for future metering needs, including equipment, staffing, budgets and new technology.
• Lead meter asset management, modernization, testing, deployment and risk-reduction strategies.
• Work with Technology and other teams to monitor AMI performance and resolve meter, data issues.
• Oversee testing and acceptance of new meters, firmware and head-end updates.
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to test and introduce new meters and software.
• Help employees and members understand metering, usage and load management, and support complex issues.
