Sparus Holdings is seeking a Meter Reader/Mobile Data Collector to read meters for residential and commercial customers in Florence, SC and surrounding areas. The role combines driving with walking to collect readings and upload data for billing and reporting.

The position requires 5–10 miles of walking daily, outdoor work across weather conditions, and strong safety standards. On-the-job training is provided, with a company vehicle and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Valid, unexpired driver's license.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic technology and handheld device proficiency.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to walk 5–10 miles per day and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and terrain.
• Paid training provided; no prior meter reading experience required.

Responsibilities

• Read utility meters and accurately enter readings into handheld devices.
• Drive throughout Florence, SC and surrounding communities to complete assigned meter reading routes.
• Upload daily meter reading data to utility systems.
• Meet established productivity and route completion deadlines.
• Walk approximately 5–10 miles per day across various terrains and property types.
• Work safely in all weather conditions.
• Interact professionally with customers when necessary.
• Work around domestic animals and wildlife.

This position requires a combination of driving and walking to obtain accurate meter readings used for utility billing and reporting purposes.
