Job summary

Labcorp in St. Paul, MN is seeking a Technologist to join our team on a Tue–Sat, 3pm–11:30pm shift with overtime. You will receive specimens, evaluate orders, perform extractions and analyses, and maintain QC across instrumentation and data documentation.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS, 1+ year of lab testing experience, and preferably ASCP/AMT certification. Strong computer skills and ability to work independently within a team are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology with 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive specimens for testing; evaluate specimens and test orders; determine priority of work and batches to maintain turnaround time.
  • Adhere to SOP while performing extractions and analysis on client samples, quality control samples and proficiency samples.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions according to SOP.
  • Evaluate data for accuracy; interpret results and produce final reports; maintain documentation and logs.
  • Maintain, calibrate and clean instrumentation; perform routine maintenance and checks; troubleshoot as needed.
  • Follow quality control rules and maintain laboratory records and logs.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist join our team in St.Paul, MN. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 3pm – 11:30 pm, some overtime is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive specimens for testing; evaluate specimens and test orders; determine priority of work and batches to maintain acceptable turn-around-time; recognize unacceptable and unusual specimens and handle appropriately.
  • Adhere to SOP while performing extractions and analysis on client samples, quality control samples and proficiency samples.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions according to SOP.
  • Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors and unusual results; interpret result to produce a final report; use GDP in all documentation.
  • Maintain, calibrate and clean instrumentation; perform scheduled/routine maintenance and critical function checks; recognize significant changes in instrument function; troubleshoot as indicated.
  • Follow quality control rules; monitor controls for error detection and take corrective action; maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control logs, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
Preferred Qualification
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience ASCP or AMT certification

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour plus shift differential All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
